In 10 years as a competitive unit, the marching band has amassed 73 class championship awards,
21 Divisional Championship Awards and 4 Grand Championship Awards
They were named the
AA Division Parade Champions at the Dixie Classic Parade Competition in
They have performed in the WSB-TV Salute To America 4th of July Parade on three occasions (one of the largest July 4th parades in the Nation)
They have performed
four times in the Egleston’s/Childrens Healthcare of
Atlanta Christmas Parade. In 2003, they
were asked to come to
2 days early and videotape the Grand Opening of the CHOA Festival of Trees with parade Grand Marshall “Mickey Mouse”.
This opening ceremony was telecast during the live broadcast of the Parade 2 days later.
They were named the
Band Division Parade Champions of the 2003 Chinese New Years Day Parade in

participate in the Hollywood Christmas Parade in
They have performed
live on “Star-94” the highest rated radio station in
The Indoor competitive colorguard unit has been named as a finalist at eight Winterguard International Regional Championships. They were the
Silver Medalist at the Southeastern Colorguard Circuit Championships in 2004 and the Gold Medalist at the same event in 2002. They once again
achieved Silver Medalist status at the 2007 Southern Association for Performing Arts Championships. Due to the growth in the program,
there are now two indoor guard units, an Independent group for the older students and a junior Varsity group for the younger students.
The independent group is currently ranked 2nd in the nation in their class for the 2008 season.
The indoor competitive percussion unit has been named a finalist at 3 Winterguard International Regional Percussion Championships. They were
also named the silver medalist at the Southern Association for Performing Arts Championships in 2007. They were most recently the
Gold Medalist at the Winterguard International South Carolina Regional Percussion Championship in March of this year and are
currently ranked 2nd in the nation in their class for the 2008 season.
The band has been
represented by membership in Honor Bands at the
The Concert Band program consists of three concert bands which regularly participate in Georgia Music Educators events and perform multiple
yearly concerts in the community. The bands perform literature ranging from Grade 3 to Grade 6 (the most difficult music available) in
both festivals and concerts. The Advanced Symphonic Band performed for the GA State Leadership Convention in 2003.
They have also had
the honor of playing for the Ambassadors from
The band or their
affiliated units have traveled to and performed in
