Jason Carpio - Associate Director of Bands

Mr. Carpio is the Associate Director of Bands at Northgate High School. As an emerging music educator, he brings a strong background in conducting, brass pedagogy, and large ensemble leadership. A native of Milledgeville, GA, he earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music Education with a focus in instrumental pedagogy from Jacksonville State University. He served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant with the Marching Southerners, Chamber Winds, Brass Band, and Symphonic Band during his graduate studies. Additionally, he studied horn with Mr. Jeff Solomon, secondary piano with Dr. Wendy Freeland, and conducting with Dr. Jeremy Stovall and Dr. Ken Bodiford.
His drum corps experience includes marching with The Cavaliers (2018–2021) and Atlanta CV (2015–2017). From 2020 to 2023, he served as Drum Major for the Marching Southerners, leading as Head Drum Major in 2022 and 2023.
Mr. Carpio is also a freelance educator and performer, active across the Southeast as a French horn and tenor horn player. He teaches private lessons in horn and drum major leadership. Driven by a passion for musical excellence and student growth, he strives to make a lasting impact through teaching and performance.
