The Marching Viking Band began in the fall of 1996 with 21 students, and has since grown and evolved into one of the strongest arms of the Viking Band program. The marching band consistently earns class and division championships at marching band competitions, as well as several overall Grand Champion awards. The Viking Marching Band strives not only for excellence in competition, but also to entertain the audience at football games on Friday nights. The Viking Marching Band serves the communities of Newnan and Sharpsburg by providing musical performances at parades, pep rallies, and other local events.
